Juno rescues these eyes and she settles them on the feathers of her bird and fills up the tail with twinkling gems.

   Immediately she flared up and did not defer times of anger, and she threw a dreadful Fury in the way of the eyes and mind of the Argive concubine and plunged blinding stings in her chest and harassed the fugitive through the whole world. The rough hairs flee away from the body, the horns grow shorter, the circle of light becomes narrower, the gaping mouth is brought about, and her shoulders and hands return, and the dissolved hoof is diminished into five fingers and toes each; nothing of the appearance about the cow is left over except the whiteness in that woman. And with the service of two feet the tense nymph is raised and she fears to speak, lest she moos with the manner of a young cow, and having been interrupted she fearfully retries words.

   Now she is worshiped as a goddess by a most populous crowd the clothed in linen;
